Featuring Artists

Delfin Ortiz Djian

Delfin is artist and designer based in London since 2004. He recently graduated from Middlesex University, with First Class Honours in Fine Art. His main interest is installation, focusing on the qualities of light, space, reflection and repetition. Besides, he also produces painting, sculpture, video, printing and performance, exploring the sensuality and obscurity of geometry through patterns, sounds and textures. Highly influenced by minimal and kinetic art, his geometric work triggers the visual perception.

Diana More

I started life halfway around the world with Hispanic/Oriental, Celtic/Mediterranean parents in the most beautiful tropical cosmopolitan but soon was moved to The Great White North. Growing up there I spent most of my time listening to punk and traveling around North America, shooting along the way. Looking for new adventures I headed over to Europe for a holiday and never left. I achieved a BA Hons in Photography at London College of Communication and made London my new base.
Today I’m still mainly preoccupied with travel and photography.  My main focus is portraiture. Though anything about human nature catches my eye, particularly the more elusive or unique side.
My work for this exhibition will look at my ethnic identity. I’ll be exploring the cultures and heritage of my grandparents and taking self-portraits to interpret them in my modern British environment.

Vesna Parchet

Born in Japan, raised in Germany and trained in London, her works feel both eastern and western. As well as drawing influence from artists such as Egon Schiele, Edvard Munch, Francis Bacon and Fiona Rae, her work is largely influenced by Abstract Expressionism and Japanese culture, Japanese calligraphy and manga culture in particular.
Vesna's primary medium is painting as reflected across her body work, however she effectively uses other mediums such as printmaking, photography, resin-casting as well as installation works. Conceptually, Vesna’s work focuses on the complexities of the human body as a convoluted entity in the information and technology- saturated world. The motif which resonates throughout her work is the portrayal of the human form out of shape and out of proportion, reflecting the our increasingly distanced relationship to nature and ourselves. The mixed media use of anatomical images merged with expressionist style aims to hint to the ambiguity between the rational and the sensual portrayal of the body.

Gosia Szczepanska
The creative mind wonders. Unleashed, it is sniffing in the dark corners of
the self and the communal registers of reality- myths- phantasm. Stripped
of desires for hope needs to express itself, prove that it exist.
I'm practitioner of multimedia, mixed media and craft art. Self taught and schooled. The everyday and
uncanny are the themes of my work. It is gendered art because it is mirroring my woman existence. It goes beyond it, expanding of multitude of possible roles and behaviors in self-representation. It is a feminist art. It is driven by discord between logic and emotion. It is hysterical and wants nothing less than total freedom.

Sara Vannacci

My work explores the relationship between the smallest details to a wider view of the every day life.
With influences as diverse as J.P.Witkin and Henri Cartier-Bresson, Jan Saudek and Bellmer, new variations are crafted from both the daily routines and special events.
Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by the theoretical limits of the human condition and the numerous ways to depict it, frame it in an artwork with not well defined time and place.
The projection of the individual against the wide canvas of society’s standards. The representation of individuality vs the collectivism of modern life.
As shimmering phenomena become frozen through diligent and critical practice, the viewer is left with a glimpse of my personal life, the people and the place that make it unique.
The DJ career started from the dark corners of alternative clubs in Tuscany, exported to London and started playing in underground events.
The interest in music was triggered by the 80s scene to start with and now I tend to cover from retro and noire genres to goth, punk, metal, noise and harsher sounds. I like to mix of contemporary schreeches and vintage melodies.
You can usually  find me, usually, in small venues and secret events in and out of london, in and in front of the dj booth but also in bigger events like Confession or ILLFM (both the clubnight and the online radio) that had hosted myself a few times.
Prediliction for industrial and noise with a solid background in goth and punk and rocknroll; I am always trying to find that hidden treasure underrated track to mix with more famous  tracks.

Annalisa Mandia

Annalisa Mandia is an Italian 25 years old artist established in London since 2009.
My artistic production is focused on the recycle of tyres and inner tubes through which i create sculptures and design pieces.
My passion for sculptures began when I was very young, only later I realized how the choice of the material is essential and can strongly influence the result.
My previous experiences using conventional materials such as clay or wood were missing the conceptual meaning that i found when I started using recycled materials.
Few years ago I met another young artist who was already producing accessories out of old tyre and inner tubes and I started to work with her on the idea to revive objects that society consider useless.
Recycling is not only a good way to reduce pollution but also our way to fight against the consumerist economical system.
In fact we do not agree with the way it forces consumers to  throw object away after a short term period.
These are some of the reasons why I use and I find morally correct using recycled materials, overall in the field of art that is in my opinion in charge to sensitize people about the current society 's issues.
While my friend is now a fashion designer tailoring clothes out of old tyres and inner tubes I make sculptures and designs out of them.
We chose to recycle tyres because they are contaminating and in the same time they are made of resistent and ductile material.
My production includes design pieces and sculptures representing mainly animals and insects.

Francesco Benenato- performance

Francesco Benenato practice is driven by the fascination with the human nature; physically and emotional in equal parts. Creating work which have a strong sense of movement within the social context. The human body is Benenato's main subject of inspiration, he is predominately attracted to its aesthetic changes, such as  movement, distortion and mutilation. Benenato's practice takes form of painting, sculpture and installation. benenato's has  been lately exploring the concept of performance. - I feel my body is seeking to expand beyond its physical boundaries-

Athanasia (Sassa) Nikolakouli- performance

Athanasia is a Greek London based conceptual artist.             Her work focuses mostly on performance, video performance, 3D installation, sculpture, and text. Her work is informed by chance and randomness and their effects on the artwork: “Free associations channel our expression of the unconscious self where the source of our creativity rests”.
Her inspiration lays in theatre and minimalism. Her aim is a total “embodiment” of the
space through experiencing the surroundings, and to communicate this experience to the
audience.Athanasia has already participated in performances at the ICA, Gallery Vella, and Hale
gallery, conducted and organized by three established London based artists.
